SouthlandMD Partnership with Burke Health in Waynesboro Increases Healthcare Access in Rural Georgia

SouthlandMD will provide management services and top-notch medical staff to the emergency department and hospitalist program.

According to the Georgia Department of Community Health, over 20 percent of Georgians live in rural areas, are an older population, and lack access to healthcare in their city. Many people must travel outside of their community to receive care and or opt not to see a doctor. It is important to the overall community health to have a well-staffed emergency department and access to medical treatment to keep communities healthy, help prevent chronic illnesses and even save lives.
